Johannes Fungerus (Fungeri, Funger, Fongers) (*Leeuwarden 1546, † Franeker 1612), was the son of Johannes Fungerus, headmaster of the Latin school in Leeuwarden. After his preparatory studies in Leeuwarden, he went to Leuven and Cologne to study medicine and law. In 1584 he became director of the Latin school in Bolsward, in 1592 in Leeuwarden and in 1607 in Franeker. He was married to Ludts Wybes, daughter of Wybrandus Hallumensis.
